Before you send
Prepare the item in four steps

Capture it clearly
Scan documents and both sides of photographs when possible. Keep the original file rather than a social-media screenshot.

Name what you know
List people, relationships, locations, approximate dates, and who currently owns the original.

Separate memory from evidence
Tell us whether a detail comes from a record, an inscription, or a family story passed down.

Confirm permission
Only submit material you have the right to share. Living people must approve publication of private details.
